Purpose This 4-week training residency has been designed to ensure that Stephanie Okechukwu (a Nigerian national and Texas Tech signee) maintains peak physical and technical readiness during the NCAA eligibility and visa processing phase. We’ve established a compliant, structured environment for daily training, health tracking, and player development, overseen by trusted South African coaches, players, and mentors.
Objectives NCAA Readiness: Maintain game shape and basketball IQ consistent with NCAA standards while awaiting clearance. Skill Development: Focus on endurance, conditioning, and game-specific skill refinement. Program Continuity: Enable Texas Tech to remotely guide Stephanie’s training through an approved workout plan. Player Health & Monitoring: Document and measure weekly progress in conditioning, shooting, recovery, and wellness.
Structure Daily Training Schedule: Two-a-day sessions emphasizing strength, skill, and endurance. Morning: Conditioning, shooting mechanics, and agility work. Afternoon: Controlled scrimmages and situational basketball. Coaching Staff: South African coaches with NCAA-aligned training experience, including Coach Thesline Davids, with participation from national prospects including: Amber Sylvester (Royal Bafokeng League) Anchi Liya (4HER / Cameroon–SA) Jodi Stemmet (Western Cape) Leon Kasanda (Red Bull 3x3 athlete) These athletes and coaches are excited to support Stephanie through peer-level competition and structured mentorship.
Texas Tech Integration Workout Plan: Texas Tech staff may provide daily or weekly workout protocols. Filming & Data: All training sessions are filmed and securely shared with TTU coaching staff. Progress Reports: Weekly updates include physical metrics (conditioning, recovery times, shooting percentages) and video summaries. Live Access: Select sessions can be livestreamed for TTU evaluation and feedback.
Facilities & Partners Training venues and performance spaces are being secured in partnership with: Red Bull South Africa (Field Marketing Division) – providing brand and logistical support. Local arenas: University of Pretoria, Wits University, Mandeville Sports Club – for gym access, recovery equipment, and video facilities. Medical & Compliance Oversight – supervised under McCormick Law framework to ensure NCAA and South African visa compliance.
